Can I get money for pain and suffering?
No. Workers’ Compensation benefits are not available for pain and
suffering. The Workers’ Compensation system is very different from
the civil court system that handles personal injury cases and the like,
which is where damages for pain and suffering are recoverable. There are,
however, instances in which someone other than your employer or co-worker
is responsible for causing your injuries. In such cases, you can pursue
monetary damages including those for pain and suffering. An experienced
Workers’ Compensation attorney can help you determine whether you
have such a case. |
